Sheppard Collier, a junior at Lewis-Palmer High in Colorado, placed second in the boys championship race at the 16th Desert Twilight Festival by clocking 16:09.5 on the 5-kilometer course at the Coyote Run Golf Course at Leisure World in Mesa, Ariz. Collier helped Lewis-Palmer earn eighth with 256 points.
